
Texans QB C.J. Stroud, Packers QB Jordan Love highlight Players of the Week
The NFL regular season is coming to a close, and there are some outstanding performances that deserve recognition. In this article, we will highlight two quarterbacks who have been sensational in their respective games and earned the honor of being named Players of the Week.
C.J. Stroud: AFC Offensive Player of the Week
C.J. Stroud is having a remarkable rookie season as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans. He has thrown for more than 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns, while only six interceptions in 15 games. He has also led his team to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth for the first time since 2019.
Stroud’s best game came in Week 18, when he led the Texans to a thrilling 23-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night. It was his first game in prime time, and he did not disappoint. He completed 20 of 26 passes for 264 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, with a stellar 134.1 passer rating¹. He also ran for 36 yards on four carries.
Stroud showed poise and confidence throughout the game, making clutch throws in crucial situations and avoiding turnovers. He connected with Nico Collins for a touchdown pass on his first throw of the game², and then found Tyron Johnson for another score in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Stroud’s performance was enough to clinch the AFC South title for Houston, as they finished with an 11-5 record behind Tennessee and Indianapolis.
Jordan Love: NFC Offensive Player of the Week
Jordan Love is another rookie quarterback who has impressed this season as he continues to develop his skills under head coach Matt LaFleur of the Green Bay Packers. He has thrown for more than 3,500 yards and 21 touchdowns, while only seven interceptions in 14 games. He has also guided his team to a playoff spot with a win over Chicago on Sunday.
Love’s best game came in Week 17, when he fired four touchdown passes in a dominant performance against Chicago. It was his second consecutive NFC Offensive Player of the Week award³, as he had previously won it after throwing four touchdowns against Detroit in Week 16.
Love showed accuracy and creativity throughout the game, finding Davante Adams for three touchdowns (two from deep), Aaron Jones for one touchdown (a rushing score) and Robert Tonyan for another score (a tight end catch). He also ran for six yards on two carries.
Love’s performance was enough to secure a playoff berth for Green Bay at No. 6 seed in NFC NFC North division behind Minnesota Vikings , Chicago Bears , Detroit Lions , Tampa Bay Buccaneers . The Packers will face Los Angeles Rams at home in their first playoff game next week.
