
Fourth Gopalganj District Taekwondo Championship: A Grand Success
The Fourth Gopalganj District Taekwondo Championship was a spectacular event that brought together around 150 talented players from various regions. Held at Anshu Marriage Hall in Banjari, Gopalganj, this championship showcased the spirit and skill of taekwondo enthusiasts, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
Event Inauguration
The championship was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony performed by District Treasurer Shashikant Arya. His presence added prestige to the event, and he was joined by the organization’s President, Sushma Srivastava, and member Dinesh Srivastava. Their support and enthusiasm set a positive tone for the competition.
Participation and Representation
Aryan Pandey, the General Secretary of the Taekwondo Association of Gopalganj, highlighted the impressive participation in the championship. The event saw approximately 150 players from different parts of the district:
- Kuchaykot: 50 players
- Barauli: 35 players
- Rajapur: 30 players
- Katiya: 15 players
- Bhore: 7 players
- Gopalganj: 13 players
This diverse representation underscored the widespread interest and dedication to taekwondo in the Gopalganj district.
Referees and Judging Panel
The championship was officiated by a distinguished panel of referees, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules. The referees included:

Additionally, Jaiprakash Mehta from Patna served as the judge, bringing his expertise to the competition.
Future Opportunities for Gold Medalists
Pradeep Kumar Yadav, the President of the Taekwondo Association, provided valuable guidance throughout the event. He announced that players who win gold medals in this championship will have the opportunity to attend a mandatory state training camp. This training camp is a prerequisite for participating in the State Championship, ensuring that the best-prepared athletes represent Gopalganj at the state level.
